Installing Primary Server Certificate File
with Key Manager
1. Open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager from the Start Screen.
2. Next, click on the Server Name.
3. Double-Click on the "Server Certificates" button from the Center Menu in the IIS section.
4. Accessing the "Actions" menu located to the Right of the Screen, click on "Create Certificate Request" and this
will open the Wizard Instructions of Creating the Certificate Request.
5. The "Distinguished Name Properties" Window has many blanks to fill in. First, in the Common Name blank the
domain name of the certificate which will be accessed should be entered there. In the Organization blank, the Legally
Registered name of the Company. In the Organizational Unit blank enter the name of your specific department within the
Company. In the City/Locality blank enter the city in which the company is located. In the State/Province blank enter the
state in which the Company is located. Finally, in the Country/Region blank select the Country in which the Company is
located.
6. Once you have finished filling in the information required in Guideline five, then click the Next button.
7. Click on the "Cryptographic Service Provider Properties" window and enter the following information:
In the Cryptographic Service Provider drop box select Microsoft RSA SChannel (unless you have a different provider),
and select 2048 or higher for the Bit Length drop down box. Then Click Next button.
8. Cock the "Browse" box to select the location in which you wish to save the CSR file. It is very important to
browse the location so that the CSR will be where you wish it to be located. Remember the filename of the document and
the location in which it has been saved because you will need this information later to open as a text file and copy and
paste it into the online order when prompted.
9. Once you receive your SSL Certificate you will then be able to install it.
