SSL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAC OS X LION SERVER

Intermediate Certificate Installation:


1. First, insert the file from DigiCertCA.crt into the Mac server. Then, select this file. Then, there will be a prompt to enter the administrator’s information to verify in order to add the certificate to the System Keychain.

Tip: If an error message pops up saying the “System Roots” keychain cannot be modified, you may need to open Keychain Access and click the System Keychain and move it to the file DigiCertCA.crt into the certificates located in the System Keychain. After that, you will be prompted to verify the administrator’s information to make changes.

Connect to Server

2. CLICK on the Server App, and choose which Mac Server you want to install the SSL Certificate on. Then, type in your login information for verification.

3. Click the option to choose “your Server’s name” listed under the Hardware menu. Then, select the Settings tab and press the Edit button next to “SSL Certificate.”

4. Select the certificate for “your.domain.com-Self-signed,” and press the Gear to show the options to choose from. From the menu, click REPLACE CERTIFICATE WITH SIGNED OR RENEWED CERTIFICATE.

5. Move the file your_domain_com.crt into window shown. As a result, the ISSUED BY field will change to DigiCert High Assurance CA-3. Then, select REPLACE CERTIFICATE.

6. Select Edit for SSL Certificate within the Settings tab. Then, choose the SSL Certificate for your domain and press OK. Now, it will show the certificate is issued by DigiCert High Assurance CA-3.

Click OK

TIP: Wait one minute and the Settings tab display will show: “SSL Certificate: your.domain.com.”

7. Lastly, your SSL has now been installed.
