SSL CERTIFICATE INSTALLATION ON MAC OS X SERVER 10.4

Once your certificate is approved, you must now download your SSL and Intermediate certificate. These must be installed on your server.

TO INSTALL INTERMEDIATE CA CERTIFICATES


1. First, download the Intermediate.crt file.

2. Open the Keychain Access App by locating Applications, and under the Utilities menu is Keychain Access.

3. In the Keychain access window, select the “Show Keychains” option. This will show the Keychain list.

4. Then, press “System” keychain and import the Intermediate.crt file that was previously downloaded.

5. Type in your password to verify and make changes to the keychain. Next, make sure that the “Comodo Certification Authority” is shown.

6. Lastly, exit out of the Keychain Access App.

INSTALL YOUR CERTIFICATE


1. First, open the Server Admin tool and connect to the server you plan to use to install your certificate.

2. Within the Computers and Services window, highlight the server at the top. Then, click the Settings tab located on the bottom right of the screen.

3. Next, click on Certificates and locate your certificate. Then, select the “pencil” next to your certificate in order to edit it.

4. Press the “Add Signed Certificate” option, and paste your certificate in that box. Make sure you include "BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----" and "-----END CERTIFICATE.”

5. Select OK, and then SAVE.

TO ASSIGN THE CERTIFICATE TO YOUR SERVICES


1. Once you have installed your certificate as well as the Intermediate CA certificate, you can now move on to assigning your certificate to the services you wish to use. For example, some services may include web, mail, iChat, and Open Directory. Within each setting pane you must enter in the desired service.

2. Once you are finished assigning, you have completed the process.
