GENERATE CISCO ASA 5520 CSR
CISCO ASA 5520 CERTIFICATE INSTALLATION SSL
1. Locate the Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM), and choose Configuration. Next, select Device Management.
2. On the Device Management screen, select Certificate Management. After that, choose Identity Certificates and press Add.
3. Then, set the Size to 2048 and keep Usage as the default General purpose. Then, select Generate Now.
4. Now it is time to fill in the information needed in the “Certificate Subject DN” by choosing the Select button located next to each box. You can define each value by choosing each from the Attribute list and selecting Add.
CN: This is typically your domain name and the name that is referenced when accessing the firewall.
OU: This is the name of the department that will be using the CSR.
O: Type in the name that is legally registered with the organization.
C: This is your country code, and if you are not sure of your country’s code click on this link: https://support.comodo.com/index.php?/comodo/Knowledgebase/Article/View/1064/0/ssl-certificate-country-codes
ST: Type in the state where your organization is based.
L: Type in the city where the organization is based.
TIP: The above boxes are not to exceed 64 characters. If they do, it could cause issues in the instilling process later.
5. Then, Select Advanced within the Add Identity Certificate box.
6. Under the FQDN window, fill in your domain that you plan to use. Also, enter in the include the device that will be used to access it. This is also the same information that is associated with the CN option in step 5.
7. Then, select OK and press Add Certificate.
8. Now, you will need to save your CSR you just generated as a text file.
TIP: Be sure to make a note of what name you label your file, and where you save it for future reference. You will need this information later to copy and paste it into the order.
9. Lastly, when you receive your SSL Certificate it can be installed.
